Last week was the first monthly meet up focusing on Type 1 and we all had so much fun together! The venue, graciously hosted by my dear friend Gene Moreland with The Agency, provided style, warmth, and a setting where the small group could enjoy spirited conversation.
Type 1—the Reformer or Perfectionist, is known to have high standards with an attention drawn to improve themselves and those around them.
It was so cool hearing partners & friends of Type 1s, parents of Type 1s and even Type 1’s themselves engage with the topic.
We discussed common words associated with Type 1—responsible, conscientious, routine, high standards, fair, honest, self controlled, and hard working and how these traits are experienced by those in the room who relate to them.
We laughed together how organizing the dishwasher can be done ‘correctly’ in the eyes of the EnneaType 1. We heard how parents can turn up the volume on affirming & validating their Type 1 child to offset their own inner critic noise.
EnneaType 1s in the room shared how they would feel more supported by those in their life by showing up, following through, being dependable and helping them to have more fun! EnneaType 1s like to have fun, they just might need permission to.
The night turned out like I hoped, building community in person, talking about the Enneagram. Our time together taught me a lot, and I hope to better my hosting skills to enhance our learning experience next month.
Whether you are that featured type or the friend of, parent of, partner of the months type, I hope you will consider joining us.
