Turning inward as the season changes

Happy September! 🍂

Welcome to the transition month—the one that gently moves us toward cozier days, changing leaves, and a new season.

Months ago, I started writing a summer post to share with you about stepping back and using the slower pace of summer to reflect on how I can use my passion for the Enneagram to help more people experience meaningful, lasting change.

And then… I had so much fun this summer that I never finished or sent the post. Ha!

I suppose that’s a pretty good example of staying present. 😉

And now here I sit, September already here, with a new season approaching. Time keeps moving forward, doesn’t it?

I don’t know about you, but I love Fall. I love the feeling of a new season. I typically feel excited, hopeful, and energized by what’s ahead.

But this year, I’m noticing something different.

I’m noticing pressure.

Pressure to perform.

Pressure to engage.

Pressure to attend.

Pressure to do.

And honestly? I’m not feeling ready.

So rather than push past that feeling, I’m going to lean into it. I’m taking another step back and intentionally putting some energy back into myself.

This Fall, that looks like attending a weekly art therapy group for clinicians, spending twelve weeks in class with EnneaGuru Russ Hudson exploring the Inner Critic, and being part of a women’s small group. I’m curious about what happens when I give myself permission to be a student again—to explore, receive, listen, and simply notice what is happening within me.

That’s not to say there won’t be EnneaWork happening, too. In fact, I have the fortunate privilege of guiding a mega-tech team through a twelve-week EnneaTeam Training this Fall, using self-understanding as a catalyst for stronger communication, more effective collaboration, and a deeper appreciation for one another.

And just yesterday, another community leader reached out to invite me to his team’s upcoming retreat, where I’ll have the opportunity to teach, facilitate, and help them cultivate greater self-awareness and healthier team dynamics.

These opportunities give me so much life.

I feel genuinely humbled to be trusted with spaces where I can bring my love for the Enneagram and help people better understand themselves—and, ultimately, create room for growth and change.

So perhaps this season isn’t about doing more. Perhaps it’s about listening more closely. Paying attention to what has energy—and what doesn’t. Letting ourselves be where we actually are, rather than where we think we should be.

Here’s to a new season. 🍂

One that invites us not only to look ahead, but also to turn inward.

Turning Inward EnneaStyle

What might it look like for you to turn inward this season?

Each Enneagram type has a different place they tend to go when they are looking for safety, worth, connection, certainty, or control. Turning inward invites us to pause the familiar strategies and become curious about what is happening underneath them. Maybe it means leaning into slightly uncomfortable change? What might it look like for you to....

EnneaType 1: Turn inward toward acceptance?

EnneaType 2: Turn inward toward your own needs?

EnneaType 3: Turn inward toward being rather than doing?

EnneaType4: Turn inward toward what is already here?

EnneaType 5: Turn inward toward embodied presence?

EnneaType 6: Turn inward toward trust?

EnneaType 7: Turn inward toward stillness?

EnneaType 8: Turn inward toward vulnerability?

EnneaType 9: Turn inward toward your own presence?

ENNEADATE NIGHTS

We closed the Spring with EnneaType 3 and it was a good time! A full house of Achievers means efficiency, collaboration, and productivity. We discussed Achievers tendency to question if they can be loved for who they are vs their list of accomplishments. Special attention was drawn to their strengths--diplomacy, efficiency, ambition, optimism, coaching, confidence. And together we explored the magic of the three different Instinctual drives (social, sexual or self preservation) that can set different EnneaThrees apart from one another.

EnneaDate will pause for this inward season of renewal. Hopefully 2027 will bring about more programs, I will keep you posted on the Events Tab.

EnneaDate continues!

We had a small, intimate group attend EnneaDate for EnneaType Ones. It was fun, informative, and light hearted. A highlight for me was experiencing a father/daughter duo (dad leads with Type 3, daught
